EdgeMind – NEMO

Programme / Framework: NEMO Open Call #2

Project Overview

EdgeMind is a pilot project developed by Syndesis under NEMO Open Call #2 to demonstrate the feasibility and value of deploying advanced AI models directly on edge devices. By integrating Large Language Models and lightweight speech-to-text models into edge computing environments, the project enables real-time, low-latency intelligent services for scenarios such as personalized athletic coaching, translation, and interactive assistance.

Syndesis Contribution

  • Developed the EdgeMind pilot as an edge AI application within the NEMO Living Labs ecosystem
  • Integrated LLMs and lightweight speech-to-text models for real-time voice-driven interaction
  • Optimized AI deployment on edge devices to support low-latency and energy-efficient operation
  • Validated EdgeMind in real-world scenarios such as personalized athletic coaching and other live interaction use cases
  • Supported integration with the NEMO meta-OS architecture to demonstrate practical adoption of edge intelligence
